Seabourn Journeys with UNESCO

As inquisitive travellers, one of our major motivators has to be the opportunity to see and marvel at the glorious wonders of our amazing planet, both natural and manmade.

So Seabourn's announcement that they are to renew their partnership with UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) is perfectly matched to our travel aspirations.

To be included on the World Heritage List, sites must be of outstanding universal value and meet specific selection criteria. Seabourn support the work of UNESCO to help protect the world's unique cultural and natural heritage, raising both funds and awareness, and have created a number of longer pre- and post-cruise journeys to access even more World Heritage Sites.

Monks at Angkor, Cambodia

Seabourn Journeys give you the opportunity to explore more extensively and further afield than you are able to do in single day excursions from the ship, in small groups of 2 to 10 people. Options include the lakeside gems of the Swiss Alps; the treasures of Tuscany; the imperial heritage of Europe (including cities such as Budapest, Vienna, Prague and Berlin); India's Golden Triangle; Phnom Penh and the temples of Angkor in Cambodia; the Red Centre and Great Barrier Reef in Australia; Lima, Cuzco and Machu Picchu in Peru; Banff National Park in Canada; and much more.

If you do not choose an overland trip, the UNESCO partnership will still enhance your Seabourn cruise, with deeper insight, unique access and behind-the-scenes information about World Heritage Sites and projects, speakers with specialist knowledge and shore experiences at over 170 UNESCO-designated sites.

With the launch of two new purpose-built expedition ships in 2021 and 2022, Seabourn will be able to take you even further afield. We are standing by for more news on these ships, and initial indications are for a development of some of the most popular aspects of the existing fleet such as Seabourn Square, a vibrant meeting area at the heart of the ship - the living room, as Seabourn like to call it, with a coffee bar, a space to chat with the knowledgeable expedition team and engage in conversation with family and new friends, or sit down with the Guest Services team who offer a range of concierge services. Visit our Mundy Adventures site to find out more.

A theme is emerging - a focus on in-depth exploration and travel experiences which, when combined with Seabourn's unique onboard style and comfort, creates the ultimate holiday. Whilst we often hear cruisers complain about the rather mundane shore excursions on offer, this is certainly not the case with the wide-ranging Seabourn options, which have now been categorised into seven different collections, from the Essential Collection for introductions and orientation, to the Adventure Collection with active and participatory experiences, the Cultural Collection exploring the arts, ideas and legacy of places and ports, and the Epicurean Collection exploring the unique flavours of a destination through traditional and contemporary food and drink.

Seabourn regulars will know about its Spa and Wellness programme with Dr. Andrew Weil, a pioneer in integrative medicine, who believes in physical, social, environmental and spiritual well-being. There are certified yoga and meditation practitioners on board, and look out for the Mindful Living Collection of shore excursions to continue your journey.

The delight of travelling with Seabourn is that its fleet of five (soon to be seven) modern ultra-luxury ships offer consistent styles and standards, which means that once you know that this is the cruise line for you, you can confidently come back time and again to travel on a wide choice of itineraries around the world.
